My name is Komalpreet Kaur Arora, and I’m the founder of Florence Food Truck

I’m a recent culinary graduate with a heart full of ambition and hands that have been baking long before I held a formal certificate. My journey began in a small town in Amritsar, India, where I ran a modest bakery and learned the true power of community, hard work, and connection through food. Every dish I made was more than just something to eat. It was a way to bring people together.

When I moved to Canada, I brought that same energy and spirit with me. In the summer of last year, I decided to take a chance and sell my homemade donuts at the Nelson Farmers’ Market, setting up under a small tent with just a few supplies and a whole lot of hope. I was overwhelmed by the response. Customers lined up, smiles on their faces, and I sold out within hours. People came back the next week asking for more. That moment showed me that I had something special, and it gave me the courage to dream even bigger. So here I am, with a food truck to connect with more people and make them smile.
